you’ve probably seen this thing all over the internet by now. is it fake or is it real? who gives a shit. what it does is it illustrates how one little mistake can totally fuck you over. this chick, excuse me, lady, posted what she thought was going to be a private message to some man, who is apparently the next john holmes, but it ended up as a post on her wall. terrible for her, awesome for the rest of us.
there’s so many things going wrong here i don’t even know where to begin. her profile says that she’s engaged, but hasn’t had sex in months. so is this guy her fiancée or just a fuckbuddy? if so, than not only is she embarrassed because some guy got enjoy her other pussy (what is that by the way? her hand, mouth, asshole?) but she publicly admitted to cheating. hey, let’s look at the bright side, at least we all get a good laugh off of her serious misfortune.
this brings us to the next topic, facebook is the next big brother. most us know about google analytics, quantcast, statscounter, and the many many the tracking software that is on pretty much every website big and small. many people fear how the tracking software is permeating the internet and that these companies know all of our surfing, purchasing, porn habits, and basically our entire “elives”. but what is even crazier is the extent that facebook’s new purchase is going take this monitoring even further.
friendfeed was acquired by facebook for $47.5 million, and this new service lets people aggregate everything they do online into one place. facebook. although the service is voluntary, the potential is just nuts. this service allows you to put everything you do from twitter to flickr and beyond on to facebook without the annoying part of updating facebook on your own. it does it for you. what’s the big deal?
i always knew that the governator was a cutter
to me, having some website crawling the internet looking for everything that i put online and then re-posting it on face book is just creepy. and, with this whole self-centeredness that is so prevelent in our culture (in america at least), this just gives more idiots more of a voice than they deserve. now, everything that they do can be seen in one place. hooray for dumbasses like ashton kutcher and arnold scharzenegger, who were, at least for a time, very big twitter users.
this kind of online aggregation is nothing new. just look at backtype. this site aggregates nearly all of the comments that you have made online and puts them in one place. unlike friendfeed, this is not on opt-in service. it does it with you even knowing that it exists. this kind of shit just bugs the hell out me and i can’t really understand it. backtype lets you serach what people are saying about topics that you specify or even lets you search for people and see basically every comment that they have left online. it seems like everday stalkers get new tools.
